The PRI-SAFETY Class K Automatic Kitchen Hood Fire System (Fusible Link Type) is a restaurant-grade wet chemical fire suppression system specifically engineered to combat Class K grease fires in commercial food service environments. Where the standard commercial hood system covers a broad range of kitchen types, this system is purpose-designed and rated specifically for the high-temperature, grease-laden conditions of restaurants, fast food chains, hotel kitchens, food courts, canteens, stadiums, schools, and hospitals — environments where cooking oil and fat fires present the most severe and recurring fire risk. The system uses fusible link detectors positioned precisely within the hood canopy and above cooking appliances — when temperature reaches the activation threshold, the links snap and trigger the automatic release mechanism, discharging wet chemical agent through spray nozzles directly onto the cooking surface, hood, duct, plenum, and filters simultaneously. The low pH wet chemical agent rapidly knocks down flames, cools superheated cooking surfaces, and generates a tough vapor-sealing saponification blanket over the grease surface — chemically converting the grease into a soap-like substance that prevents reflash and re-ignition. The system simultaneously and automatically cuts off gas and electrical supply to all protected cooking appliances upon activation. Available in two coverage designs — appliance-specific for fixed equipment layouts and overlapping for kitchens where equipment positions change frequently — making it adaptable to virtually any commercial kitchen configuration. Fully power-independent, stainless steel constructed, and certified to ISO 9001:2015, CE, and EN standards.
