The PRI-SAFETY CO2 Total Flooding Fire Suppression System is a high-pressure gaseous suppression system that uses carbon dioxide — one of the oldest and most proven fire suppression agents — to extinguish fires in sealed industrial and electrical environments. The system stores CO2 as a liquid under high pressure in cylinders, and upon activation discharges it through a pipe network and nozzles into the protected space, where it rapidly expands — simultaneously absorbing heat from the fire and diluting the oxygen concentration in the protected zone to a level where combustion can no longer be sustained. Unlike clean agent systems, CO2 is a total flooding agent that works primarily through oxygen displacement, making it highly effective for deep-seated electrical fires, flammable liquid hazards, and industrial equipment enclosures — but strictly limited to unoccupied spaces due to the asphyxiation risk at suppression concentrations. The system operates in both total flooding mode for sealed rooms and local application mode for open hazard areas where room sealing is not practical. Compatible with automatic detection via smoke and heat detectors and manually triggered via pull stations, it is one of the most cost-effective gaseous suppression solutions available for industrial applications. Certified to CE and EN standards and compliant with NFPA 12 for carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems.
